The 2011 French Open starts on Sunday, May 22, and will be broadcast on the Tennis Channel here in the United States, and marks the 110th edition of the tournament. The tournament will be held on the red clay courts of Stade Roland Garros in Paris, France.

Unfortunately though, the hopeful competitors for this year’s tournament have been plagued by misfortune. Two time French Open finalist Dinara Safina had to withdraw from the tournament due to back problems, and  both Serena  and Venus Williams are out with injuries as well. Despite missing some star talent this year’s tournament still promises to be an exciting event with top players like Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Caroline Wozniacki  and Vera Zvonareva competing for the prize.

Sometimes sports are something worth talking about and lately golf has been the sport to be watching. At first when the world heard that Tiger Woods was coming back it seemed as though he was sure to win the Players Championships, that was one reason why a lot of people made a point of getting in there and getting their tickets early. However, when he started playing bad, and now that he’s gone it became anyone’s game. With that in mind, here is a video of some of the best shots of the past week. As it is the game is going well, so if you have the money and the time you should get down there to watch it.
